I hope this makes you smile

DiggGoogle+PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

I haven’t done one of these in a while.  However, while at Dr. Pattie’s office yesterday I snapped this picture.  I was taking pictures of Elliott and Emmett having a noodle fight.

If you look in the background, you’ll see Gavin doing God only knows what.

It’s pretty funny because I didn’t even notice this until after the fact.  I think Gavin was pretending to run away scared.

Honestly, I don’t care what he was actually doing because he was having fun and wasn’t hurting anyone.

I thought you all might get a smile out of this one. I know I did.  🙂

Reunions

DiggGoogle+PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

I’ve mentioned before that my little sister had moved out to the East Hamptons to work as a physical therapist for the rich and famous.

He just moved back home because she missed the family too much and couldn’t stand to be away.

This morning, Lizze and my sister Kate, reunited after quite some time.  Lizze and Kate are pretty close and she was greatly missed while she was gone.

Lizze was so happy, she was crying and I caught the moment.

It was so nice to see Lizze crying tears of happiness for once.  🙂

Things that made me smile

DiggGoogle+PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

I wanted to share some of what I experienced today.  Wednesday had its ups and downs and for this post, I’m sharing the ups.

Today was extremely busy, filled will places to be, phone calls to make and things to do.

I managed to snap a few pictures and capture some of the memorable moments. These memories include standing get inside of a giant expandable ball and snuggling with Bella while eating some chicken nuggets for lunch.

Others include enjoying a milkshake while watching get an Elmo movie,  playing corn hole squeezing in for a group picture and last but not least,  Emmett’s stinky feet.  🙂

Right now,  I’m choosing to focus on all the things that I really enjoyed about today.

I can always worry about the rest of it later.

Smile

DiggGoogle+PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

Today was one of those days that we wanted to take advantage of, even if it wasn’t the best time to do so.

Elliott was home today while his brothers were at Grandma’s.

We decided to take Elliott some place that he’s been asking to go back to forever. That place just happens to be Chuck E. Cheeses.  We also just happen to have a really, really good coupon.

Lizze pushed herself so that the 3 of us could go together.  This was the last place she really needed to be but she didn’t want to miss out on the experience with Elliott.

Everyone ended up having a ton of fun.

Lizze is paying for it right now but she’s glad she went.

Elliott had an absolute blast.  He got a ton of tickets and used those tickets to get this little toy dog thing.

I’m really glad that we could do this for him but this isn’t something that can happen very often.  It was totally worth it though to see the smile on his face.

The Lighter Side of #Autism: Smiles

DiggGoogle+PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

The other day,  while Elliott was in Cleveland,  we had some special time with Emmett. Because of his food allergies,  Emmett doesn’t get to partake in some of the more traditional childhood activities, like eating ice cream.

However,  there is now a frozen yogurt bar near us that offers non-dairy frozen yogurt.

This is Emmett’s favorite place to go. When he’s here,  he gets to do what everyone else is doing.  He makes his own ice cream and this always puts a huge smile on his face.  We can’t do this very often but when we do,  it’s absolutely worth it,  just to seen his little face light up.

It really feels good,  as a father to see your child get to do something that makes them so happy.

I hope Emmett’s smile will brighten your day,  as it has mine.

What makes Elliott Richard smile

DiggGoogle+PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

The boys received a box from UPS this afternoon. Lizze’s parents were in Disney World last week and sent some presents for the boys.

Elliott has been smiling from ear to ear.  He and Emmett both received a Mickey Mouse and Gavin received a shirt and a new hat.  They are all really happy with the souvenirs.

The Lighter Side of #Autism: Big Shoes to Fill

Today the boys decided to play with my shoes and walk around the house.  It was really cute and it made me smile.

I hope it brings a smile to your face as well.  🙂
