This is something I feel very, very strongly about and I hope people will listen to this with an open mind.  Please leave your thoughts below in the comments.  Also, please share this across your networks and help me get this message out to as many people that are willing to listen as possible.

I wanted to share with all of you my newest t-shirt design. This is focused on spreading the word about Autism Awareness Month. Aside from spreading Autism Awareness, my goal is to make these as affordable and accessible as possible.

Today’s release starts at only $10 and shares the message that “April is for Autism Awareness“.

This is one of my favorites and I hope you find it pleasing and something you would sport to show your support for Autism Awareness.

Autonomic issues: The complications continue

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

We have spoken with almost all of the doctors today. Gavin‘s autonomic specialist at the Cleveland Clinic basically said that we have to get into the mitochondrial doctor ASAP.

They said that we can’t message around with this at all.

Dr.  Reynolds office called back this afternoon and moved us up yet again.  Now we will be seen at 3pm instead of 7pm.

From what we understand,  the very least that we are looking at is blood work,  twice a week. I don’t think I have to explain just how unpleasant that will be,  for all involved.

We toyed around with actually withholding his meds tonight but decided to keep the status quo, as it’s best to let the professionals handle this.  Not to mention,  the last thing in the world we need is a manic and violent Gavin.

We have already almost had 2 meltdowns since he’s been home.

We received bad news: Update

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

After a horrible nights sleep,  I was counting down the minutes until 9am when immunology began taking calls. Lizze and I are really in a panic about this and desperately need answers to either put our fears aside or decide in which direction we are to proceed.

I have left a detailed message and should be hearing back from them sometime soon.

I won’t lie to you,  this wait is going to feel like an eternity. However,  as soon as I hear some,  good or bad,  I’ll update you all.  Thank you again for your continued thoughts,  prayers and support.

**Thanks for reading**

Penny Wars

The boys are having a penny war at school.  Each class room is collecting pennies and the one to collect the most,  wins a special prize.

All of the money collected will go to a family the school has adopted for the holidays this year.  So everything is for a very good cause. Typically,  what we have done in the past was collect pennies and turn them in on the last day,  as kind of a surprise,  “here’s a crappy load of pennies”.

Now that we have to boys at this school,  they are essentially competing against each other as rival class rooms.  I had to take a different approach this year.

I wanted to boys to feel special and really help their respective class to win.

So I decided to donate 5000 pennies to the cause.  Is this easy for the Lost and Tired family to do?  No.  Was it the right thing to do?  Absolutely…

The way I see it,  we have met with so much generosity this year that the very least I can do is continue that trend of paying it forward.  I think it’s also a great message to send go the boys.  They are both so excited to be helping another family and while winning the prize is something that has not escaped their fieldbof vision,  it’s not their primary focus.

I’m very proud of them for that.  :-)

……and it feels really good to be able to once again reach out and help someone in need.

The plot sickens, I mean thickens

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

Elliott came home from school and is running another fever. Not to be out done, Emmett is spiking a fever as well and Gavin has a sore throat.

Lizze, however, is feeling better. I have been trying to convince her to still for tonight and just take her mom.

Lizze is reluctant because everyone is crying or screaming because they are miserable.

In Gavin’s case he’s melting down because he isn’t going to grandma’s house tonight. He melted down for about 20 minutes before regaling his composer.

I’m going to be with Elliott at the doctors in just a bit. I reallybthink he has an ear infection. He experiencing a ton of anxiety at the thought of going to the doctors.

Dear Universe,

I give up. I will not try to take my wife out tonight for a much deserved date night. I don’t know what I was thinking but I apologize for angering you so. Perhaps next time you could just send a letter instead of bombarding us like you have.

Rest assured that your message has been received loud and clear.

PLEASE don’t use drugs

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

You’ll find this post way of topic but I thought we could all do with a good ‘ol fashioned laugh.

This is my public service message for today. Don’t do drugs…..or this could be you.

Alright, having said that, I wanted to share this SNL clip with you fine folks. I crack up each and every time I see this. Hopefully, it will lighten the your mood as well. Drug abuse isn’t funny at all but SNL is freakin’ hilarious. I hope no one takes offense to this. :-)
