Android app of the day

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

Emmett, my 3 year old is the biggest player of app based games in our house.

His current favorite is a game called “Where’s my water”. It can be found in the Android Market for like $1.

The game is really neat. Basically, you have to problem solved in creative ways. The goal is to get the water to the alligator so he can take a bath.

Emmett loves this game and is really good at it.

There are a ton of levels to play and the developer is adding new levels frequently.

Check it out……

Android apps for kids with #Autism: 12/10/11

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

Featured Android app of the day

Today’s featured app comes from Intellijoy. The app is Kids Connect The Dots<—- Click here to download

Lost and Tired  fully endorses this Android application by the great developers at Intellijoy, and have personally used this app with my 3 boys on the Autism spectrum.

This app is basically a game of connect the dots. Your child will practice the chronological order of number and be rewarded for finishing the puzzles with a bright colorful picture. As the time this post was published 2:50pm, 12/10/2011, this app was on sale for $.10 as part of the Android Market’s massive 10 Billion downloads sale.

My kids love this app. This is actually one of the reasons Emmett has begun counting so well. This is the perfect time to grab this app off the Android Market

Recommendations

I would highly recommend this app to anyone with an Android device and a child on the Autism Spectrum.. Honestly, this app is great for typical kids as well.  As special needs parents, we have a sometimes daunting task in front of us when it comes to helping our kids learn. Apps like this can be of tremendous value and provide your child with the an engaging, colorful and rewarding experience, all while they learn their numbers.

This is an example of technology, truly making life a bit better.

Lost and Tired’s Android app of the day 12/03/2011

Featured Android app of the day

Today’s featured app comes from Walgreens Pharmacy. The app is simply titled: Walgreens <—- Click here to download

The Lost and Tired house has been using this app since it was released. Basically, you can refill your prescription buy simply scanning the bar code on your prescription bottle with the camera on your Android device. Once you have successfully scanned the bar code, you select the location of the pharmacy nearest you. Everything is done automatically after that.

We manage a great deal of prescriptions, especially with my wife’s health issues. The app by Walgreens has helped to streamline and simplify things. I would whole heartedly recommend this app to anyone the uses Walgreens Pharmacy for their prescriptions.

I have used this app, myself, many times and it really does make things easier. You can also browse the Walgreens weekly ad and order photo prints from your local store as well.

Recommendations

I would highly recommend this app to anyone with an Android device that uses the Walgreens Pharmacy. As special needs parents, we have our hands full with everyday life. Anything that can make life just a little bit easier…..is a great thing.

This is an example of technology, truly making life a bit better.

Getting Fit4Autism

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

One of the things that parents of Autistic children do very often is forget to take care of themselves. So I started a team on Endomondo called Fit4Autism. If you have a smart phone chances are you can download the Endomondo app.

Check out my Fit4Autism page at the top for details on how to sign up. The team consists of people from around the world. We have runners, walkers, hikers, bikers, swimmers ect. We all track everything we do both big and small and it adds to the total number of miles the team as a whole has accumulated. We are racking up miles to raise Autism Awareness.

It doesn’t matter what your contribution it because the whole point is to get in better shape so we can be on this earth as long as possible. Our kids will need us there whole life and I fully intend on being there for mine as long as possible. So I push myself and walk about 3 miles a day as regularly as possible. I have more energy and I lose weight as well.
I encourage you ALL to do this for your kids if you won’t do it for yourself. Please join my Fit4Autism endomondo team and get healthy while raising awareness for Autism.  Let me k ow if I can answer questions or be of any assistance.

Please Vote for Lost and Tired (just click the link) and help me spread Autism Awareness. Everyone can Vote once a day :)
