Elliott called me hysterical

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

I just got a phone call from a very,  very homesick Elliott Richard. He will be arriving home,  sometime shortly after midnight.

My mom said that all of a sudden he became really upset and she wanted him to talk to me so that he might feel better.

Truthfully,  I couldn’t understand a word he was saying but I knew he was very clearly distraught.

I’m pretty sure he’s physically exhausted and emotionally drained from the 13+ hours he’s been in the car today so far.  They encountered very heavy traffic leaving New York this morning.  So much so that as of 4pm this afternoon,  they had only made it to New Jersey.

All I can say is I’m really,  really excited to get Elliott back tonight.

I promised him that the giant squishy couch would be waiting for him upon his return tonight.  I think he needs to snuggle tonight.  :-)

Almost admitted but home again 🙂

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

Lizze just arrived home from the hospital. I was with her for the first couple of hours. Her parents met me at the hospital and we traded jobs. I took the boys home and out them to bed and they stayed with Lizze and brought her home. In a nutshell, they treated Lizze well and not like someone who was seeking drugs. :-) They gave her 2 rounds of morphine and a CT scan, which turned out to be normal. In fact, they almost didn’t release her tonight because her blood pressure was so low. Morphine lowers blood pressure but this was related to an autonomic issue that Lizze is going to be evaluated for at the Cleveland Clinic very soon. She’s feeling pretty good right now. I’m praying that this will actually break this 7 or 8 month old migraine and stop the cycle. Thank you all for keeping Lizze in your thoughts and prayers tonight. :-)

Treasure hunting

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

So far so good.  Today has been pretty good so far.  I got up at 5am with both Elliott and Emmett.  I let Lizze sleep because she not doing well.

After everyone was up,  I took them all to the farmers market.

We stocked up on fresh fruit of center again.  The boys got to walk around and look at all the booths.  They each got to pick something out and had a blast doing so.

It was like a treasure hunt and they eventually found a special treasure.

Elliott and Gavin found special rings,  while Emmett picked out a watch.

Hopefully,  this will set the tone for the rest of the week. :-)

Can a dog have PICA?

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

I’ll spare you the pictures but Bella has been puking up sticks all morning.  That’s right, sticks.

Bella eats everything she can fit into her mouth.  She has tons of toys and gets plenty of food each day.

I have found Crayola poop outside, on more than one occasion. She loves to eat crayons.

We do our best to keep her from doing this stuff but when she goes outside,  she literally rips branches off of the small trees and bushes.

I’ve no previous experience with Boxers.  Is this normal?

A weekend without stress

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

Gavin has been gone for only a few hours but the overall stress level in the house is decreased. The boys are more relaxed and went to bed without any problems.

I hate the fact that this is actually the case but it is what it is.

I plan on making the best of this weekend and at the same time,  trying not to feel guilty…

One of those nights

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

Last night was one of the most restless nights of sleep I’ve had in quite some time. At some point I ended up on the couch,  probably because of my my back.

Lizze didn’t fare any better as she’s not feeling well.

It’s very likely to be an exceptionally long and trying day. Hopefully, things will turn around and I’ll be proven wrong. :-)

Three boys and three different meals

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

This is a typical meal at the Lost and Tired house.  Granted we haven’t put out the fruit, drinks and veggies but you can see that everyone has something different.

It’s damn near impossible to make one thing that is acceptable to everyone

Each of the boys has different sensory needs and those needs impact what types of foods the tolerate.  I can safely say that I no longer enjoy cooking because it has become way to big of an ordeal to please everyone

In all fairness though,  please is probably the wrong word.  They have no control over this and I don‘t blame them one bit.

Having said that,  it doesn’t mean I still don‘t get frustrated.

Again, this picture just has the three different main course meals.  They hadn’t been served everything else yet.  I just wanted to show the three different meals.  :-)
