Lost and Tired is a Top 10 Autism Blog at CafeMom

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

I want to share this with my readers because this is really cool and a huge honor.

I was contacted by The Stir at CafeMom.com  this afternoon and told that I had been awarded the Top 10 Autism Blog.

This is such an honor and I’m totally humbled by this recognition for my work.  Thank you The Stir and thank you CafeMom. I really appreciate it and I hope I can live up to this.  :-)

Lost and Tired is a Babble.com Top 30 #Autism Blog for 2013

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

I wanted to say thank you to Babble.com for once again awarding my efforts with a Top 30 Autism Blog Award for 2013. I’m completely humbled and I truly appreciate the recognition. Upon seeing some of the others that made the list as well, I’m quite clearly in good company. :-)

Thank you to all my readers for all your continued love and support. I have the best readers in the world.

I would also like to take a moment and remind everyone that Autism Awareness is not about receiving awards. To me, it’s about doing what is right, regardless of how unpopular it may be.

My inspiration for all I do is my family. Without them,I would be nothing.

All my efforts are a direct result of wanting the very best for not only my family, but yours as well. I want our kids to grow up in a world that sees them for who they are and not what they have.

Please make this easier for me

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

I wanted to let everyone know that I’m not forgetting to announce the winners of my giveaways. As soon as the contest ends, I email the winner.  Sometimes, I don’t hear back within the 24 hours and I have to pick a new winner and try again.

Once I actually get a response, I will them announce the name publicly.

It’s easier that way…

As a reminder, please, please, please check your email.  Please make sure you provide an active email address and if you live in the middle east or any other country outside of the US and Canada, you can’t win.  I’m sorry but those are the rules. .

Check out my #Autism Awareness Store

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

I wanted to invite you all to visit by new #Autism Awareness Shop over at CafePress. My reasons for opening this store are many but most importantly, I want to spread Autism Awareness in unique and creative ways. My goal is to start dialogue with those unfamiliar with Autism and also show support for those touched by it as well.

image

A portion of each sale will come back to me but having said that, it’s not really about the money. Honestly, every little bit helps but all I’m really looking to do is help cover the costs associated with this site, the My Autism Help Forums and the out of pocket shipping costs that go along with my giveaways.

Basically, I want to keep being able to do what I do, without having to take away from my family to do so. Does that make sense?

What I really want to do is be able to provide unique and creative ways to make the world more aware of Autism and maybe even overcome some of the stereotypes. You all know that I work somewhere outside of the box and my approach to everything is kinda unique. I feel that this approach will work outside of this site as well.

Check out my t-shirts at the shop and you will see sayings like: I love someone with Autism or Ask Me About Autism. There are many more coming but these should help get the conversation started.

Autism Awareness can begin with a simple question. That question can lead to a conversation and that conversation can lead to Autism Awareness.

Please keep in mind that this store is really new and the collection will continue to grow. I’m even open to your ideas as well.

Is there a statement about Autism that you would like to make? Let me know and I’ll try to help with that.

I’m also going to work with CafePress on more giveaways in the future as well. This you allow my readers the opportunity to get these items at no cost. Who doesn’t like free?

Thank you again for all your continued love and support. I’m really hoping that this will help me to continue to help others. :-)

I need your input

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

I’ve been trying to figure out how to bring in some extra money.  Since we lost our business, things have been pretty rough.  Then I had an idea.

I thought that maybe I could combine my passion for spreading #Autism Awareness with my families need to survive.

This is what I came up with.

I had a gift card and so I designed this t-shirt and wanted to know what you all thought.

The way I see it, Lost and Tired not only plugs my site but also describes how many of us feel as parents to children on the #Autism Spectrum. Having said that, we love our kids more than anything in the world.

I think this would be a great way to spread awareness and start conversations.

I’m not sure of the cost but part of the proceeds would go to help my family as well as cover the shipping costs of the tablets I’m giving away with Idolian..

Keep in mind that this is just the first design and there is more to come.

Let me know what you think and please be honest.

Also, please keep in mind that I designed this one for me. I would obviously want to advertise my blog so that I can connect with new people. If I pursued this, I would make the URL optional.

Lost and Tired isn’t meant to be depressing. It’s meant to describe how many of us feel and despite those feelings, we rise above and continue moving forward as best we can for the children we love so much.

Helping Canada’s #Autism Families

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

I really excited to be able to let you all know that going forward,  the Tablet giveaways will be open to Continental Canadian Residents as well.

I looked into shipping and customs and have worked it out so that this offer can extend to my northern friends.

Shipping for the current giveaway is being sponsored by a very generous reader, who I won’t mention until I get permission.  Thank you very much.

Please be sure to thank Idolian for donating these tablets and making this possible.  They have a fantastic selection of tablets and accessories.  Let’s make sure to help generate some attention for them.  I’ll update this post with links for doing so when I get home later.

I’m so excited to see this taking off.

UPDATE: Links to Idolian. You can use these to help spread the word about their website, amazing deals and generosity.

Let’s pimp them out ;-)
