I need your thoughts and prayers

DiggPinterestLinkedInRedditBuffer

As you may or may not know, I suffered a major back I jury in 2001. The injury requires surgery to fix and because of how complicated our lives are, surgery was a risk I wouldn’t take.  I simply played through the pain.

I did so for over 10 years.

I can’t begin to describe the amount of pain I was in for so long, except to say that I experienced some pretty dark times and it got to the point that I wanted to end my life.

When I began about 2 years ago, I finally experienced relief.  I’ve been doing pretty well since.

This past weekend, I knelt down to take a picture with my grandmother, while at my Dad’s surprise birthday party.  That was all it took to throw all the progress I’d made away.

Since last Saturday, things haven’t been going well for me. I’m at the point that I can’t even walk without my legs giving out.  The pain is so bad that I feel like I’m going to vomit. This isn’t a good thing and I ask that you would please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

Typically, these bouts of pain only last a few days to a week. However, I’ve not experienced this level of pain since I first incurred the injury.

I need all the positive thoughts I can possibly get.

Please say a prayer for my friend

DiggPinterestLinkedInRedditBuffer

A very, very good friend of mine is undergoing major eye surgery on both his eye today.  His right eye cannot be fixed and vision in that eye cannot be restored.

However, they are hoping to be able to save his left eye.

Of the surgery works, the vision in his left eye will be restored. If this doesn’t work, he will one his vision completely.

This person  is the closest thing I have to an older brother.  He can use all the positive thoughts and prayers you can muster.  Thank you all so much.

How about some good news

DiggPinterestLinkedInRedditBuffer

I wanted to share some good news with everyone.  As you know, my grandfather was in the hospital and ended up needing to have a tumor removed a few weeks ago.

It turns out that not only does he have prostate cancer but it has spread to his pelvis.

My parents and the rest of my Mother’s siblings met with the doctor yesterday to discuss options and figure out prognosis. Everyone had questions and obviously concerns.

While his particular form of cancer is pretty aggressive, they are going to begin a hormone treatment that is expected to basically put him in remission. They aren’t promising anything because they can’t.

However, my grandfather is pushing 90 and is otherwise in good health.

The long and short of it is that they don’t expect the cancer to affect whatever time God has assigned him. Of course, that is subject to change and we all know that.

With that said, this is much, much better news than anyone had been expecting.  To say that we are all grateful is an understatement of a lifetime..

My grandfather is super cool and even drives a suped up Dodge Charger. He’s got plenty of time left on his clock and we are more than grateful to spend it with him.

I wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

The hits just keep coming

DiggPinterestLinkedInRedditBuffer

I just heard from my Mom about my grandfather. Unfortunately, it’s not good news.  The cancer has spread to his bones.

My Mom and Dad are going to Cleveland to see him at some point tomorrow.

I would love to go with them but Lizze has calling hours at about the same time. Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers.  This is a difficult time for all of us.

We lost another member of our family this week

DiggPinterestLinkedInRedditBuffer

Please keep Lizze’s family in your thoughts and prayers.  She lost her great uncle this week and calling hours are Thursday evening.

We’ve lost 8 friends and family members this year and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

I really appreciate your positive thoughts…

Please say a prayer for my Grandfather

DiggPinterestLinkedInRedditBuffer

As you know, my Grandfather had surgery this week to remove a tumor from his bladder.  The surgery itself went well and we still waiting to find d out if it’s cancer.

However, he’s still in the hospital and my Mom called tonight to let me know that he’s not doing so well.

He’s still losing blood to internal bleeding and they can’t find the source.  He’s also running a fever and and his speech is slurred.

They’ve ruled out a stroke or TIA but they aren’t sure what’s going on.

Lizze and I are going to be very likely making the trip to Strongsville in the morning with my parents. Lizze’s Mom is going to try and get off of work to watch the boys.

I don’t know how serious this really is but it doesn’t sound too good.

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you so much.
