Recommended android apps for kids with #autism

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

I thought I would help you fill that shiny new android tablet you just got with some amazing apps. Below you will find a list of educational apps, all of which I have personally played with my own kids. These are all created by a company called Intellijoy.

Intellijoy is the #1 developer of educational apps on the entire Google Play Store, and for good reason.

Every one of these apps will work fantastically on the highly recommended Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus

Check out the extensive list below and click on the app title, located beneath each icon, for a direct link to the install button located on the Google Play Store. Please note that there are both paid and free versions of these apps.

This gives you the ability to play before you buy. My kids love these apps and they have become staples on all of our devices. :-)

I hope this helps. Enjoy and please leave your feedback below.

Android apps for kids with #Autism: 12/10/11

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

Featured Android app of the day

Today’s featured app comes from Intellijoy. The app is Kids Connect The Dots<—- Click here to download

Lost and Tired  fully endorses this Android application by the great developers at Intellijoy, and have personally used this app with my 3 boys on the Autism spectrum.

This app is basically a game of connect the dots. Your child will practice the chronological order of number and be rewarded for finishing the puzzles with a bright colorful picture. As the time this post was published 2:50pm, 12/10/2011, this app was on sale for $.10 as part of the Android Market’s massive 10 Billion downloads sale.

My kids love this app. This is actually one of the reasons Emmett has begun counting so well. This is the perfect time to grab this app off the Android Market

Recommendations

I would highly recommend this app to anyone with an Android device and a child on the Autism Spectrum.. Honestly, this app is great for typical kids as well.  As special needs parents, we have a sometimes daunting task in front of us when it comes to helping our kids learn. Apps like this can be of tremendous value and provide your child with the an engaging, colorful and rewarding experience, all while they learn their numbers.

This is an example of technology, truly making life a bit better.

Lost and Tired’s Android app of the day 12/03/2011

Featured Android app of the day

Today’s featured app comes from Walgreens Pharmacy. The app is simply titled: Walgreens <—- Click here to download

The Lost and Tired house has been using this app since it was released. Basically, you can refill your prescription buy simply scanning the bar code on your prescription bottle with the camera on your Android device. Once you have successfully scanned the bar code, you select the location of the pharmacy nearest you. Everything is done automatically after that.

We manage a great deal of prescriptions, especially with my wife’s health issues. The app by Walgreens has helped to streamline and simplify things. I would whole heartedly recommend this app to anyone the uses Walgreens Pharmacy for their prescriptions.

I have used this app, myself, many times and it really does make things easier. You can also browse the Walgreens weekly ad and order photo prints from your local store as well.

Recommendations

I would highly recommend this app to anyone with an Android device that uses the Walgreens Pharmacy. As special needs parents, we have our hands full with everyday life. Anything that can make life just a little bit easier…..is a great thing.

This is an example of technology, truly making life a bit better.

Special Needs App Reviews

PinterestLinkedInRedditShare/Bookmark

I have decided to start reviewing Android apps,  in particular,  those that apply or will be useful to special needs parents.

I have a whole catalog of apps that I use to help with this blog and keeping the Lost and Tired family moving forward.

I’m kinda excited about this because I truly believe Android is the way to go.

I hope you will find this useful.

If you have an Android app geared towards special needs families or Autism in general,  and would like it reviewed,  please contact me. I would like to review anything that could assist those with Autism and their families.

As apps for the iPad / iPhone ect goes,  I would be happy to review them as well,  however you would have to provide the device along with the software.  I don’t currently own an Apple product.  While prefer Android based devices,  you are welcome to show what the iOS based devices have to offer. :-)
